It seems like everywhere you look on campus, workers are adding new improvements to campus facilities. That’s because NIU is taking visible steps every day toward a more sustainable future. With Campus Sustainability Month now underway, it’s the perfect time to check in on the university’s progress.

Secure your E-bike.

E-bike theft is on the rise globally, with statistics from 2024 and 2025 showing significant increases in reported thefts. This trend is driven by the high value of e-bikes and their components, like batteries and motors.  NIU Police and Public Safety would like to remind you to secure your E-bike while on campus.  

Join us for FAFSA Fridays!

The 2026-27 FAFSA is now open. Visit the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office for assistance completing your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid. All students eligible for financial aid who plan to enroll next year should complete a new FAFSA or Alternative Application each year, as soon as possible, to be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid.

Help future Huskies find their path!

What better way to spend time with fellow Huskies than in our campus cooking classes. NIU Recreation offers three classes this semester. In the line-up are chicken caprese pasta, creamy pumpkin pasta and honey garlic salmon with veggies. Our hands-on cooking classes fill up fast and don’t disappoint. Due to popular demand, students may register for one class per semester. Claim your spot: Registration for our first class, chicken caprese pasta, ends Wednesday, Oct. 15.  

AnywherePrints will be upgrading the online Web Print service to enhance printing options for the campus community.  

This enhancement will replace the two existing print queues with new print queues offering options for both Black & White and Color (Single Sided) or (Double Sided) printing, within the Web Print portal.

This upgrade will take place on Tuesday October 7th at 7:00am.  A brief service interruption may be experienced but not expected.
